20100309 Cherilyn Eagar US Senate Candidate

This was a good evening meeting where a number of us were able to hear from Cherilyn, a candidate running for the Senate. There were about 45 people at this event. I appreciated hearing Cherilyn’s positions on the energy, finance, and states rights.

3/9/2010 7:42:17 PM Video “Joe the Plumber quotes from debates. I have too many questions about Barak Obama and how he can lead this country. If you are successful you have to pay more than everyone else. He wants to penalize us for this. I mean social security is a joke. I don’t need another set of parents as “”the government.””
Why is this guy, who is not even a plumber making the headlines.”
3/9/2010 7:44:28 PM Introductions Joe the Plumber just endorsed Cherilyn Eagar. We now speak with him once a week. He has only endorsed 4 candidates. He is right now thinking of endorsing another candidate in Arizona who is going to run against McCain.
3/9/2010 7:45:36 PM Introductions “Thank you for being here tonight. Some of you are delegates. I am going to adlib for a bit. She is my younger sister and I have watched her over the year. From here perspective things need to be done right form the government. My mother was very invovled in politics and she had resources and capabilities that were interesting to me. She would go door to door for politics.
Sherilyn has been involved over 30 years. She has great knowledge and you will get to hear from her. She will answer your hard questions and knows what is happening in Washington and she is concerned. She wants to change the way things are.
There is a lot of negativism and concern as I know you have.”
3/9/2010 7:48:40 PM Video “Senate Schumer recently announced that traditional values are of the past.
I have stayed at the base at Guantanamo.
We have the right to defend ourselves and our families. We need to defend ourselves from those who would take our freedoms away.
It will take each one of us to assume responsibility. We don’t need seniority if it doesn’t do anything for us.The doers roll up their sleeves and make things happen. I believe that we can overcome this adversity.”
3/9/2010 7:51:38 PM Information Cherilyn Eagar Thanks for coming and take time away from your family. I appreciate my brother hosting this event. You make the difference.
3/9/2010 7:52:20 PM Information It was our mother who nominated the Caspers over here for Mother of the Year. Our mom was also mother of the year in California.
3/9/2010 7:53:19 PM Information Cherilyn Eagar “I will let you know some of the things that distinguish from the other candidates. You can ask questions and be hard on me. I will then introduce you to a personal friend of mine. How many of you came this evening because you are concerned with DC?
I determined that someone needed to go back who did not take money and sell votes through back room deals. I promise that it will never happen to me.
Our family was so patriotic that my mom stopped to vote before she delivered me as a baby.
If we are honest with ourselves we need to do something. The Republicans are at fault as well. I started my politics many years ago and worked to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment. Since then I have been aware of radical feminism and how it has defeated the family. We look in Congress and see Pelosi, Feinstein and others. I worked against them back then and they don’t want to see me again. I am a conservative woman.
I am not suggesting that we should vote on gender. Last fall I met with 150 policy leaders in DC and they all said that they were looking for a conservative woman in the Senate. 4 Republican women vote with the Democrats. I would like to work with the men. I want to be the woman who will help overturn Roe v Wade.
Our nation is going down economically, in my view, because we have lost our moral moorings. My husband, Randy Eagar, not here because of travel. I own a Real Estate online company. We do inhouse support versus sending out of country.
I do stand out because I don’t have problems like others. Energy Solutions is funding 50,000 dollars to our congressman. And they are also funding Harry Reid.
How are you going go change this?
I am looking at Jason Chaffetz and I like what he is doing. You have to win with the media and he is doing that. I have a media background and will use that. When you have corporations that are funding both sides of the aisle, that is corruption.
How did companies get to run businesses? The regulations started to control them and then corporations then wrote laws.
Now companies are leaving the country with the outsourcing and we are losing jobs here in America because of it. Pat Buchanan warned us and we did not listen. We are now trying to send green technology through flawed science to other countries.
I am the only one in this race that does not have a conflict of interest.
I feel that my experience is just right for the Senate. You need to know how to deliver and persuade. You need to be passionate. I have been a talk show host, I have written policy and been to the United Nations to advocate for traditional values. I have been part of teams to pass marriage amendments across 4 states. These are the benefits that I bring to the race.
Endorsements are coming in from all over conservative groups. Your turn to ask questions.”
3/9/2010 8:04:43 PM Question Energy solution?
3/9/2010 8:04:51 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar “We need some independence. We have too many regulations that are punitive and keeping us from doing what we need. 67% of our state is owned by the federal government. We have to change this and it has happened slowly. They are strategically grabbing the land that is our best resource. It is not constitutional. They should work with Congress.
We have to have people at State level speak out more. Then we have to have the Senators back them up. Our energy is being tied up. Vernal, Duchesne and other areas. We have clean coal capability but they are taking our land back.
Deregulate, get rid of DOE.”
3/9/2010 8:08:05 PM Question I appreciated your efforts on behalf of education. You were wonderful. One of the problems right now is that we not only have Republicans and Democrats, but we have DC people who have been there so long that it is hard to make headway. I think there could be some great change in the fall. Have you made any friends there who are willing to buck the system?
3/9/2010 8:09:18 PM Answer Carl Eagar I would like to propose that we release senator bennett with a vote of thanks.
3/9/2010 8:09:40 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar “I have gotten to know a number of people working on some conservative issues. There are probably less than a handful of real conservatives in the Senate. I guess when you are surrounded by the ideas you become numb to it. I met some of them and they toured me around. All I can say is that there will need to be some coalitioning. We are very conservative. Our style should be paid attention to. This state has been ranked best managed. We are number one. We know how to do it. They probably would be happy with anything compared to what they have right now. “”Your senator is part of the problem.”” There are 5 or less that you can choose from.”
3/9/2010 8:12:23 PM Question What would be your agenda? Specifics.
3/9/2010 8:12:36 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar “Spending is something we’ll talk about. An earmark is an appropriation. Some are right and others are not. I would want to make sure it had constitutional standing. It would have to be vetted in the open. I would want open bidding. Does the earmark have anything to do with the bill it is attached to.
The stimulus had 9000 earmarks. They said “”you vote for mine and I will vote for yours.””
Why should we be redistributing wealth across the states.”
3/9/2010 8:14:56 PM Question How do you initiate the change?
3/9/2010 8:15:04 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar “I have the power to vote no. In 1994 the Republicans had an opportunity and they blew it. We are paying for it.
I want to put forward a resolution that every senator go through a constitutional course. Those who go against it will have something to answer to when I take it to the media.
We lost our representation when we removed the power of the legislators to elect the senators. In this way the national senators are responsive to the legislature. This was the 17th amendment. Put forth a measure that all senators report at least quarterly to their state for receiving the states agenda. If we have senators who don’t agree, then we take it to the media.
Another measure within the senate to require that senators live the same way that we live. Senator Byrd has 7.5 million for retirement.
I think that the Emperors new clothes is what is needed here. One little boy in the street said that the Emperor had no clothes. If you repeat the same thing over and over people believe it. Take the message to the media. Jason is doing a good job in this. I credit him for getting the message out there. He is taking these issues to the court of public opinion.
I am told that you get a visit and if you go along with it you get leadership and help. I will have to be open and honest.”
3/9/2010 8:21:08 PM Question This is really good and I like the fact that the Emperor has no clothes or the clothes have no Emperor.
3/9/2010 8:21:35 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar “I am who I am. I am pretty intense. I am trying to speak my heart and what is right.
When you follow the money you will find the corruption.
We have to cut taxes and cut spending. I showed the kids in school what is going on. We would need to audit the Federal Reserve. We have a group of private international bankers who dump money in the markets. We haven’t seen the hyper inflation yet.
I heard on Hannity a week ago and they were talking about the 7 billion dollar trade debt. We have a dollar that is ready to collapse. We have to follow that money.
Alexander Hamilton was the Sec of Treas and he wanted a central bank. Others were opposed to it since we didn’t want to put money in the hands of centralized government. We are seeing this happening now and we are becoming enslaved to it.”
3/9/2010 8:24:54 PM Question The LDS church has a tremendous influence here. On one hand we have a consistent message of honoring, obeying and sustaining the law. We also have idea of helping others come here to this country. We also have the Prop 8 that happened and now our special bill that lets rights happen.
3/9/2010 8:26:06 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar The church has a four fold mission and mine is different. I will support and defend the United States against enemies foreign and domestic. I know there is a measure that is going to provide the same protection to another organization that is religious. When it comes to immigration I will have to do what is best for the nation. I would oppose any policy that continues on the path of amnesty. We are importing crime, poverty, drugs and other things. We are exporting our jobs.
3/9/2010 8:28:07 PM Question How will this country raise revenues?
3/9/2010 8:28:18 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar Our founders did not believe in an income tax. I think it has been very detrimental to our country. I have spoken to Glen Kimber on this and I like the idea that each state should choose how they will provide the revenues to the federal government. In that way they can choose. I would like to see the repeal of 16th and elimination of the IRS.
3/9/2010 8:29:52 PM Question You don’t want a convention? We all know that money is power and when we changed in 16 and 17 we lost state control. I can’t see any fixes happening until we get back to the original.
3/9/2010 8:30:00 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar “There are about 283 sponsors to auditing the federal reserve. I would try to bring the issues to the court of public opinion. You have to speak out and be a strong voice.
I can ask another Senator if they are willing to do the right thing, but only if I am there in person.”
3/9/2010 8:31:51 PM Question Flat tax?
3/9/2010 8:31:56 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar Fair tax.org you can go out there and take a look. It would be through sales tax that doesn’t hit those in poverty level. You can discover even those who are retired that they won’t have a tax hike. I would want to have the states make there choice on how they do it.
3/9/2010 8:34:27 PM Question To just drop the entities means you would have significant job loss?
3/9/2010 8:34:46 PM Answer Cherilyn Eagar Here is what I love. If we truly believe in the private sector then you will see that businesses will fill in the void very fast. Right now government keeps competing with the private sector. Charity comes from the private sector as well.
3/9/2010 8:36:20 PM Closing Cherilyn Eagar “(quote) assistance to foreign lands should .. (cicero)
He was assassinated for those worlds. The roman republic chose wrong. It is up to us to make the change, especially here in Utah. People ask why I am running. As an American I am passionate about our sovereignty and protecting the constitution. We have a WTO that is giving away our rights. As a Utahn I am deeply passionate about protecting our state sovereignty. We have ghost towns where we can’t use what we have. Finally as a mother and grand mother I am deeply passionate about protecting our future freedoms. Do not underestimate a mothers power to defend her children and their freedoms. Sandy and she will talk about 9/12.”
3/9/2010 8:40:27 PM “I was a 9/12 widow. Somebody flew their plane to my husbands office building. I have asked why. I started out with a study of the Magna Carta, Bill of Rights and other documents. I know deep in my heart that God was in the establshment of this country, a promised and free land.
The Constitution is a divine document and we stand back watching our document be trampled. Those who gave their lives to defend it are being lost. I don’t know how many in DC have their sacred honor.
I must see that I protect the freedoms that were given. We are the thread that is holding the constitution together. Are we going to let go or stand firm and fight. I do not want to stand at the judgment bar of God and not be able to stand having defended what I received.
Neither do I want to go beyond the veil and face those who fought for this. I have decided to back Cherilyn because I have children too. I don’t want them to have to grow up in a country that is not free. I will fight and fulfill my obligation.
I have given her what I can but it’s not much. We have to put our money where our mouth is and pledge our fortunes or whatever it takes.
I look forward to seeing her on the shows and helping turn this problem around. I hope that you all will stand with me and do whatever you can to help clean up Washington. If we have enough faith, God will move mountains and we can help him do that.
Tomorrow morning on the Bob Lonsberry show she will be debating Tim Bridgewater.”
3/9/2010 8:46:23 PM Information David We have some forms you can fill out. We have some great endorsements.
3/9/2010 8:47:19 PM Information Cherilyn Eagar “One other thing. I want to thank Carl and some ask, can I win. I want to speak to it. I am a lightning rod because of what I have done. Gloria Steinem is not happy that I am running. Linda Hershman is writing a blog on the “”daily beast”” and I am one of the 4 women she is writing about. They are trying to get rid of Michelle Bachman as well. I am really excited about this.”
