20060408 US Senate Race
2 Senator candidate messages;
Brian Jenkins and Michael Ridgeway had a chance to introduce themselves and state their positions on the issues. Lisa Shepherd invited the delegates to attend Senator Hatch’s upcoming events next Thursday 4/13.
Brian Jenkins – It is a pleasure to be here today. I graduated from BYU with a political science degree. The constitution is the only way to protect our government. The pressure on our representatives to act was large when 911 happened.
We now have patriot act II. Mr. hansen and others have decided that discovering an apprehending terrorists is important at ALL cost.
We accept the figure of 1000 people / day coming across the border.
Patrick Henry said, “give me liberty or give me death.”
How many of you are aware that CAFTA was not something that we wanted to get in to, but the DC representatives voted for it. The Utah legislators can’t effect change in the Senate.
Michael Ridgeway – In the time that I have I can’t say it all. I am thankful for this opportunity. I am going to give you a sound bite here.
“We want to figure out who will be the chair of this district”
We have a Senator who is working with the National Party woman to host a caucus in secret. I would ask the question about Senator Hatch. I don’t have time to go in to Hatch’s lack of following rules. Please read “Washington farewell address”. He stated what I want us to follow. We need to follow the laws and rules that we make.
My name is Mike Ridgeway and would like you to know your rights.
Lisa Shepherd – County Campaign representative for Senator Hatch – This Thursday we are having lunch at Brick Oven and … some other events. You are welcome to ask any questions you like and he will answer.
